Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 : At Jaipur
Morning after breakfast at the hotel proceed for an excursin to Amber Fort where you will have a chance to enjoy an elephant ride upto the ramparts of the fort. AMBER FORT : 11 kms from Jaipur - A marvelous example of Rajput architecture with its terraces and ramparts reflected in the Maota Lake below. The magnificent old citadel, a labyrinth of massive walls and towers, shrouds an exquisite marble palace, pillared and carved glimmering with a million tiny mirrors, which create tantalising reflection effect. The ascent to the fort is on gaily caparisoned elephants.

Afternoon is left free to explore and experience this city of colours on your own. Car will remain on disposal if required to be used. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 : Jaipur - Agra
After buffet breakfast at the hotel in Jaipur proceed to Agra by car (5 hours) enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri.

FATEHPUR SIKRI : A fascinating ghost town, lies a little beyond Agra the deserted Red sandstone city that was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital. It was a veritable fairy tale city and its ruins are still in a pristine condition. It is not hard to imagine what the court life must have been like in the days of its grandeur. Set like a jewel in a courtyard of pink sandstone is the marble tomb of the Saint Salim Chisti, enclosed by delicately carved marble screens.

Afternoon visit the world famous Taj Mahal built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his second wife, Mumtaz Mahal, whose death in childbirth in 1631 left the Emperor so heartbroken that his hair is said to have turned gray overnight. Construction of the Taj, begun in the same year, was not completed until 1653. In total 20,000 people from India and Central Asia worked on the building. The Taj Mahal is like a silent rhapsody that you will carry in your heart. Also visit Agra Fort, constructed by Emperor Akbar in 1695 on the banks of the Yamuna River. Initially the fort was a military structure, but during Shah Jahan’s reign it had partially become a palace.

AGRA CITY : is the medieval city of the famous 17th century master piece Taj Mahal, which of course is the most splendid of all buildings - perhaps the most perfect architectural monument in the world. It was built in the memory of the beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal of one of the greatest kings Shah Jehan of the Mughal Empire - Agra is not only famous for Taj Mahal but the impressive Mughal Red Fort known as the Agra Fort.

Day 6 – Agra to Haridwar – 8 to 9 hours
Morning after breafkast at the hotel proceed to Haridwar and check in at the hotel on arrival.  Afternoon visit Haridwar. Evening attend evening arati at Har Ki Pauri Ghat. Overnight at the hotel.

Haridwar is considered very holy, as this is the point from where the Ganges emerges from the Himalayas to begin its slow progress across the plains. The main ghat 'Har ki Pauri' (the footsteps of God) is suppose to be the precise spot where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains. Consequently the river's power to wash away sins at this spot is superlative and endorsed by a footprint of Vishnu left on a stone here.

Day 7 – Haridwar to Shivpuri / Rafting / Rishikesh
Morning after an early breakfast at the hotel proceed to Shivpuri for rafting trip down to Muni Ke Reti. After rafting trip transfer to Rishikesh and check into the hotel.

Afternoon tour of Rishikesh. During your Rishikesh tour you will visit Laksham Jhula, Ram Jhula, Geeta Bhawan, Raghunath Temple and Triveni Ghat. Later return to Haridwar for overnight stay at HOTEL.

Rishikesh, the gateway to Himalayas, is considered as the Mecca for Yoga and Meditation centres. Rishikesh nestled in the Tehri-Garhwal region of Uttaranchal abounds in natural splendour. The spectacle of the Ganga rushing through the Himalayan foothills is an awesome sight. Several temples dot the banks of the Ganga at Rishikesh. Rishikesh is located at a height of about 1360 feet above sea level. It is believed that several yogis and sages lived and practiced penance here.

Day 8 – Rishikesh to Shimla – 7 hours
Morning after breakfast at the hotel drive to Shimla and check into the Hotel.

Afternoon explore Shimla. Overnight at the hotel.

Shimla is the capital town of Himachal Pradesh. The town of Shimla is built over several hills and connecting ridges. The important hills are Jakhu ( 2,455 meters ), Prospect Hill ( 2,328 meters ), Observatory Hill ( 2,350 meters ), Elysigim Hill ( 2,466 meters ) and Summer Hill ( 2,300 meters ). It is perhaps the biggest hill station in the world, located at an altitude of 2,421 meters above sea level. A place of peace and pleasure, Shimla is a tourist resort in real sense of the world. The best season of the year here is autumn but the early spring runs a close second. Shimla is connected with air, rail, and road traffics. Shimla under snow is a wonderful sight and it offers the unique attraction of an open air ice skating rink. Also the legendary Ridge under snow and snow sports at Kufri make Shimla a wonderful winter holiday resort.

A Union Territory It means that the City is under the direct administration of the Government of India and not constituted as a state with its own legislative assembly. A Union Territory in India is something like the District of Columbia in the USA.
