Everest Base Camp Tour

Tour Duration: 16 Nights / 17 Days
Destinations Covered:Kathmandu – Lukla – Phadking – Namche Bazaar – Tenghoche Monastery – Tengboche Monastery - Dingboche – Chhukung – Lobuche - Everest Base Camp - Gorak Shep – Kalapattar – Pheriche – Tengboche

Day 01- Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345meters).
Meeting and greetings on arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the time free to relax from jetlag. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: At Kathmandu
Morning after breakfast at the hotel commence sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley visiting Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most important Hindu temple in Nepal, Boudhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in Nepal and Bhaktapur - a fascinating town with its Bhaktapur's Dubar Square featuring the Victorian illustrations style with temples and temple complexes and Patan city. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Flight to Lukla from Kathmandu - Trek to Phadking (2700 meters)
Morning transfer to airport to board a short flight to Lukla (2800m). Arrive Lukla and commence trek to Chablung (2700) descends steeply to the Tharo Kosi - also known as Kusum Kangru Khola (river). Beyond the Tharo Kosi Bridge, the trail climbs to Ghat (2590) and again climbs to Phadking. Time permiting you may opt to visit Gompa situated high and gives an excellent view of surrounding mountains. This will give you a feel of being in the mountains and you will keep on having the same in next few days. Overnight at guest house.

Day 04: Phadking to Namche Bazaar (3440 meters)
Morning after breakfast leave Phadking for Namche Bazaar - the trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and reaches Zamphuti. From here you can see nice views of Thamserku peak. Trail from here climbs to Chomoa, the site of an agricultural project, an interesting place to have a look around and gain an insight into the farming way of life of the people of this region. From Chomoa, the trail again climbs to Monjo (2840m) and enter Sagarmatha Everest everest area. National. Walking some distance up hill you will be at Jorsale (2830m) and after a long climb with views of Mt. Everest (7879m) the trail reaches Namche Bazaar. Check in at Guest house on arrival. Meals and overnight at the Guest House.

Day 05: At Namche (3440 meters)
Breakfast at guest hosue. Later proceed for sightseeing tour around Namche Bazaar. Hike to the nearby hills for views of outstanding mountains like Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Also walk around the Khumjung valley, Hillery School and Khunde Hospital, Mountaineering museum and Sagarmatha. Overnight at the Guest House.

Day 06 - Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860 meters) 5 hours.
Morning after breakfast at the guest house trek along the rushing glacial waters of the Dudh Kosi with magnificent views of the mountains. Arrive Tengboche and check in at the guest house. Later visit monastery where you will see some of the incredibly ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. Overnight at guest house.

Day 07- Trek to Dingboche (4350 meters) 5 1/2 hours.
Morning after breakfast at the guest house trek to Dingboche crossing some of bridges on the way. Climb to Pangboche amongst thousands of mani stones. Continue your uphill trek to the quaint traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche with its exquisite views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. Arrive and check in at the guest house. Rest of the day free to relax and acclimatize. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 08- Trek to Chhukung (4710 meters) – Day return trek - 4.30 hours.
Morning after breakfast at the guest house enjoy another day for acclimatization. Proceed for an excursion trek trip to Chhukung valley via the Imja Khola valley to get a marvellous view of the surrounding mountains, especially Lhotse - massive south wall. Return to Dingboche for overnight stay.

Day 09- Trek to Lobuche (4910 meters) 5 hours.
Morning after breakfast at the guest house trek to Lobuche - the trail goes along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and passes by stone memorials for climbers who have perished on nearby summits. Continue to climb to reach Lobuche at an altitude of 4910 meters. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 10- Trek to Everest Base Camp (5365 meters) then to Gorak Shep (5180 meters). 8 hours.
Morning after breakfast at the guest house commence your difficult trek along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5365meters. Nearest point to Mount Everest without mountaineering equipment. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is spectacular. Overnight stay at Guest House at Gorak shep.

Day 11- Hike up to Kalapattar (5545 meters) early in the morning and trek down to Pheriche (4120 meters). 7 hours.
This will be one of the most difficult yet rewarding days of the trek. Most of morning in this day is spent climbing Mt. Kala Patar, a small peak (by Himalayan standards) at  5555meters. The ascent is demanding but the climber gets the most magnificent mountain panorama: Everest, the highest point on the planet at 29028ft, 8848meters, towers directly ahead and on all sides loom the other giants, Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. We make a quick descent to Gorak Shep, a tiny hamlet at  5180 meters then trek down to Periche. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 12: Trek to Tengboche (3860 meters ) 4 hours.
Trek back to Tengboche via Pangboche.Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 13: Trek to Namche (3440 meters) 4 hrs.
A steep descent to the Dudh Kosi and another climb up to Namche Bazaar.Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 14- Trek to Lukla (2840 meters) 7 hours.
Finally we return to Lukla where the trek began, which will seem like a lifetime ago. Enjoying time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. Also giving you time to explore the town. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 15- Morning flight back to Kathmandu. 30 minutes.
Enjoying your last glimpse of the mountains you have recently visited for one last time on the 35 minute Scenic flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu we are met and transferred back to our starting hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 16- Leisure day in Kathmandu.
It's also spare day in case of bad weather in Lukla.

Day 17- Transfer for your final flight departure.
The trip ends, our Airport Representative will drop you to the Kathmandu International Airport for your flight departure from Nepal.
